Edinburgh Science Festival 1-16 April
The festival embraces the concepts of experimentation, innovation, creativity, curiosity and invention.
It is one of the largest and most respected jazz and blues festivals in Europe. Providing a programme that spans the entire history of the music from ragtime to modern jazz to Chicago blues and beyond.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival 8 – 23 August
The world’s oldest continually running film festival. EIFF presents both UK and international films, in all genres and lengths. It also presents themed retrospectives and other specialised programming strands.
Edinburgh’s Christmas and Hogmanay – Late December
When it comes to Hogmanay, Edinburgh certainly knows how to put on a show whether it’s the enchanting torchlight procession, the famous Hogmanay street party, and spectacular firework display, or a toe-tapping ceilidh and concert in Princes Street Gardens.
